Salvation Army (Abt 1887)

From Goodspeed's 1889 History of Cole, Moniteau, etc Counties, Missouri:
The Salvation Army, Capt. Hubbard and a female private, made a second effort to organize a company at California in May, 1887, but owing to the fact that the Methodist Church, South, was holding the greatest revival meeting since 1860, Capt. Hubbard did not succeed.
This is the only reference to this church I have found in many sources researching the churches of Moniteau County.
