Newspapers
The Weekly News was established as the first newspaper in Moniteau County in 1858. It later became the California Democrat in 1870
The Tipton Times started in 1877 & has been printed under the same name to the present
The Moniteau County Herald was printed from 1885-1968, however, it merged and was the identical paper to the Democrat from 1947-1968 under the Herald name

Death Certificates
Missouri Death Certificates older than 50 years old are free to search and download at the Missouri Secretary of State’s website. They were first required on a statewide basis in 1910
